Thanks to generous support from the Carolina Lowcountry and Atlantic World (CLAW) Program and the College of Charleston’s Race and Social Justice Initiative, we are pleased to announce that the conference planners will award a limited number of individual travel and lodging stipend awards (5-8 awards) for up to $2,000 to conference participants on a competitive basis and based on need.
Instructions and Criteria to Apply:
*Please note on your conference proposal that you would like to apply for a travel and lodging stipend award. See Submit a Proposal instructions for guidelines. DEADLINE PASSED: December 15, 2016.
*If you have already submitted a proposal, please contact email@example.com to request that your proposal be considered for funding support and submit a budget overview (see below).
*Along with your proposal, send an itemized budget overview in a word doc or pdf of your estimated travel and lodging expenses (up to $2,000) to attend the conference. Please include departure and arrival locations and dates. Also, please note if you have other sources of conference funding support. Covered costs include: transportation to and from Charleston, South Carolina, to attend the conference, and lodging costs during the conference dates. Note the special conference rates at local Charleston hotels.
*Stipend awards will not cover meals or additional transportation costs in Charleston. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for questions about what is covered by the travel stipend award.
*Conference registration will be waived for stipend award recipients, so it does not need to be included in your budget overview.
*Applications for travel and lodging stipend awards are due by the CFP deadline of December 15, 2016. We will announce the 5-8 travel and lodging stipend award recipients with proposal acceptances in early 2017.
